FIRECOMMS OPENS NEW OFFICES IN NORTH AMERICA AND ASIA

Cork, Ireland — January 4, 2006 — Firecomms Ltd., a leading compound semiconductor company that develops high-speed light sources in visible range wavelengths, is pleased to announce the opening of new regional offices in the U.S. and Japan. “This expansion into North America and Asia reflects our continued success and commitment to our customers in these regions,” says Firecomms CEO Declan O'Mahoney. “This move enables us to enhance support of our numerous multi-national customers.” The Firecomms North America office, located in Houston, will provide sales and application support to customers developing products based on Firecomm’s light sources in the Americas. North America Business Manager Lawrence Thorne will direct operations from this office. Niall Keegan, Firecomms’ general manager of Asia Pacific, will manage operations from the Firecomms Japan office which is located in Yokohama. Sales and field application engineers in this office will be responsible for handling sales and applications support to customers throughout Asia.
